Based on the standard practice, existing methodological guidelines and suggestions from respondents from the sending organisations, the following code of conduct was proposed for the national volunteer database as part of micro analysis:
The sending organisation undertakes to:
- Instruct volunteers on the rights and obligations ensuing from volunteer service, including informing the volunteers about the potential risks involved in their activity;
- Provide volunteers with training, supervision, consulting (or other relevant form of support) and, where possible or required due to the accredited programme, also volunteer liability insurance;
- Respect that volunteers work of their good will and adapt, to the maximum extent possible, its requirements and expectations to the possibilities, capacity and willingness of the volunteers;
- Maintain personal information of volunteers only with their consent and in accordance with the law on the protection of personal information.
The volunteer undertakes to:
- Plan and discuss his activity with the programme coordinator, and exercise it in accordance with the programme rules and the mission of the sending organisation as a whole;
- Participate in training, consulting and supervision organised for volunteers by the sending organisation based on the rules of the programme;
- Observe the principles of non-disclosure and respect for personal history, needs and possibilities of the client (refugees);
- Work towards the integration of refugees in the majority society and their mutual understanding.
The user of the National Database of Volunteers for Refugees undertakes to:
- Observe the rules for using this database and contact the database administrator immediately in the event of technical difficulties;
- Enter only valid, current and true data in the database and promptly remove or edit invalid and outdated information;
- Update their profile regularly and add new relevant data;
- Cooperate with other database users, share the demand for volunteer services and volunteer offers, coordinate their requirements for the functionality of the national database, share their experience, promote good practice and develop further forms of cooperation for the benefit of developing volunteer services for refugees in the Czech Republic;
- Respect individual ties of volunteers to their sending organisations and their rules, prefer cooperation and partnership at all times, and refrain from actions that could disrupt the above ties and obligations.
